MY PLAN FOR HEALTH:
MY PLAN FOR HEALTH:
This is the plan I use for my:
- Patients
- Staff
- Wife
- Daughter
And everyone else that chooses me to be their Doctor!
Take a thorough personal health history of the patient
Complete a thorough exam during which I check for the following:
- Any signs of infection
- Any signs of allergies
- Any signs of indigestion
- Determine the condition of the patient’s heart
- Determine the condition of the patient’s immune system
- Determine the condition of the patient’s lungs
- Determine the condition of the patients other 45 systems of the body (including Liver, Kidneys, Colon, Hormonal, Pancreas, Brain, Muscular-Skeletal, etc…)
- Track down the causes of all the patients symptoms
I also address several questions to make health determinations like:
- Are there any signs of disease anywhere in the body?
- Are there any signs of dysfunction anywhere in the body? (dysfunction usually proceeds almost ALL diseases)
- Is stress affecting this patient? If yes: How?
- Is there any chronically damaged tissue?
- Is there any chronic or current swelling and inflammation in the body? If yes: Why?
- Is the patient overweight? If yes: Why?
- Are their signs of a blood sugar problem?
- Is there any condition that would limit the patient’s life?
- Is there any dysfunction that would limit the patient’s life?
- Is this patient toxic? If yes: Why?
Then I address if there is anything I missed.
Next:
I recommend treatment and discuss all options with the patient
Find out what the patients long term health goals are
Work with the patient toward achieving those goals through:
- Diet
- Education
- Emotional issues
- Exercise planning
- Nutritional assessment
- Treatment for their personal health issues
And anything else that will help my patient!

0HOW TO LIVE TO 120…AND STILL BE HEALTHY!
HOW TO LIVE TO 120…AND STILL BE HEALTHY!
Patients have asked me for years HOW DO I LIVE A LONG, HEALTHY AND HAPPY LIFE?
Although the Keys to Longevity are a good way to start, other planning must be done also.
Here is the Dr. Alain Salas “Top Ten” list to living a long, healthy and happy life:
1) FIND THE UNDERLYING CAUSE OR CAUSES OF CHRONIC SWELLING AND INFLAMMATION IN THE BODY AND GET RID OF THEM!
2) DESENSITIZE ALL ALLERGIES!
3) FIND AND GET RID OF ALL LONG TERM INFECTIONS!
4) FIND, TREAT AND GET RID OF ALL INDIGESTION IN THE BODY!
5) TREAT ANY DYSFUNCTIONS IN THE BODY!
6) ADDRESS ANY DISEASE IN THE BODY!
7) ADDRESS ALL WEIGHT PROBLEMS INCLUDING OBESITY!
ADDRESS AS MANY TYPES OF NEGATIVE STRESS AS POSSIBLE!
9) MAINTAIN THE PATIENT IN A HEALTHY WEIGHT RANGE!
10) EDUCATE THE PATIENT ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES!
KEYS TO LONGEVITY:
KEYS TO LONGEVITY:
PHYSICAL: low calories / exercise / liquid vitamins / white tea / chlorophyll
EMOTIONAL: virtuosity (GOD like qualities) / happiness / joy
SPIRITUAL: work that’s fulfilling / meditation / having a positive relationship with God in your life
GENERAL HEALTH:
- Juice and broth fast two days per month
- Good supply of fats like avocados, whole nuts
- Work on bettering your relationships / with emphasis on spouse and children
HEALTH SINS:
- A steady stream of carcinogens
- Too many refined carbohydrates
- Too many hydrogenated fats
- No exercise
- Being negative on a daily basis
- Untreated allergies
- Untreated blood sugar problems
- Untreated infections
- Untreated inflammation
- Poor relationships with the people who are close to you
HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DUMMIES:
HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DUMMIES:
Your child has a severe cough all through the night that is progressively getting worse, do you…
- Call your family doctor (If he or she calls back they will tell you to go to the hospital)
- Take your child to the hospital and risk getting a big bill, AND at the end of all the testing be told by the doctors that they don’t know what’s wrong
- Tell your child to tough it out and hope and pray they don’t have pneumonia
- Give them an over the counter, generic or name brand cough syrup
These are tough choices that are usually forced on a patient because:
- True diagnosis is not really taught in our Doctor’s schools curriculum
- Doctors are dependent on tests because that’s the way they have been taught and they could very easily be sued if they do otherwise (Standard of care)
In 2012 we’ll likely see that many patients won’t come to see their doctors because they fear having to take out a second mortgage on their house to pay the bill. The Doctors in turn when they see a patient need to do a test, any test. As a matter of fact Doctors can’t give you a diagnosis without one. This frustrates and aggravates the patient and strains the Doctor/Patient relationship.
In reality, the Doctor and patient should be working TOGETHER to:
- Determine what is wrong with the patient right now
- Establish a plan to prevent disease and dysfunction BEFORE it happens
- Collaborating to devise a protocol to take care of the patients bodies which is our God given Temples!
Patients should not do the following:
- Expect a Doctor to fix something that’s been going on for years with one visit
- Eat like “Porky Pig”
- Not exercise
- Smoke
- Not see their Doctors regularly
Again, unfortunately for the patient, a doctor’s visit should not cost a small fortune only to be told, “We don’t know what’s wrong”.
SO REALLY WHAT THE PATIENT MUST ANALYZE FIRST IS THE FOLLOWING:
How do I get information about my condition or symptoms without using my children’s college funds?
This question can force the patient into trying something careless like self diagnosis, which can cause consequences which could possibly be dangerous depending on what’s wrong with them.
0HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ADVANCED DUMMIES:
HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ADVANCED DUMMIES:
How is a Doctor supposed to analyze your health issues? Usually by doing the following:
Taking a history including:
- What are your symptoms?
- How long have you had them?
- Describe the pain or discomfort?
- What time do you have the pain?
- Have you been seen by any other doctors for these symptoms?
- What tests did they run?
- What were the results of the test?
- What treatments did they give you?
- What was the result of the treatments?
The above questions are a very, very short list of “must ask” questions by the Doctor to the Patient. Other questions might include:
- Are you taking medications at present?
- What are the side effects of these medications?
- Is there anybody else in your family that has the same?
- What is the intensity of the symptoms?
- Is there anything that improves the symptoms?
- Is there anything that makes the symptoms worse?
Now after reading all these questions WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU HAD A DOCTOR TAKE A HALF AN HOUR WITH YOU?
Stop laughing! I’m being serious. It takes time to analyze health issues and most Doctors would go broke if they took that much time with each and every patient.
On each office visit, during your examination, does your Doctor check you for the following?
- Health problems caused by stress
- Heart problems
- Hormonal problems
- Kidney and liver problems
- Lung problems
- Muscular-skeletal problems
- Nerve problems
- Signs of allergies
- Signs of indigestion
- Signs of infection
And does your Doctor examine all the other systems of the body in the same visit PLUS check out all of your original symptoms?
0HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PATIENTS:
HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PATIENTS:
So how do you choose your Doctor?
For most people over the last ten years THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY HAS MADE THAT CHOICE FOR THEM! This was in exchange to lower your health care cost with the insurance companies telling you if you go to our Doctors, you’ll pay less. They also tell you if you go to your Doctors be prepared to pay more and get out your checkbook or credit card!
At present, with health insurance deductibles (the amount you pay before your insurance starts to pay) being well over one thousand dollars per person, the patient now gets to choose their own Doctors again!
The best way to find a Doctor is to bluntly ask the questions listed on the last two pages.
If the doctors try to discourage you by saying certain types of exams take too much time you must ask:
- How much time do they normally take to figure out what’s wrong?
- Do they usually require a test?
- What types of tests do they normally run?
- What do those tests conclusively tell you?
- How much will all of that cost?
If the doctor starts getting rude or in a hurry with you at this point, they are probably not interested in finding the root cause but way more interested in getting rid of your symptom.
Make a note of this course of action and start looking for your next doctor!
Any Doctor or Healer can be chosen to figure out what’s wrong with you. It can be an:
- OBGYN
- Medical primary care
- Osteopath
- Chiropractor
- Nurse
- Herbologist
- Acupuncturist
- Surgeon
Any other type of health care practitioner as long as they will research what is wrong with you by:
- Complete a thorough history and
- Complete a thorough exam and
- Do NOT charge a fortune to do it
Once you have chosen your Doctor or Healer or Nurse and they have diagnosed you, do their treatments:
- Make sense to you?
- Does the diagnosis make sense to you?
- Does the treatment make sense on how it will treat what’s wrong?
- Will it cost a small fortune?
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WILL IT REPAIR THE UNDERLYING CAUSE OF YOUR PROBLEMS?
0QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR:
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR:
Okay, you found a Doctor who you trust and will do a good job by:
- Completing a thorough personal health history
- Completing a thorough examination
- And not charging you a month’s pay!
THE FOLLOWING ARE QUESTIONS EVERY PATIENT SHOULD ASK THEIR DOCTOR AT SOME POINT IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP:

- Do I have any long term swelling and inflammation in my body? If yes:
- Where?
- What is causing it?
- Can we stop the swelling and inflammation?
- Why is chronic swelling and inflammation so important in disease processes?
- How does the disease process, combined with medications, affect the number of years a person will live?
For starters these are some of the questions that should be asked of your Doctors.
This means all of your Doctors!

ALLERGIES: EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ALLERGIES:
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ALLERGIES:
The human body can have an allergic reaction or response to just about anything, including but not limited to the following:
FOOD: The most common food allergies in no particular order are: wheat, dairy, chicken, eggs, pork, tomatoes, potatoes and many more.
INHALED: The most common are winter wheat in fall, early spring are trees, followed by the grasses, flowers and finally weeds by late spring.
HORMONAL: There are over 20,000 hormones in the human body
ELECTRICAL FREQUENCIES: Cell phones, computers, clocks and radios near the head of the bed, and TV.
TOPICAL: Meaning when we use products on or things that come in direct contact with our skin. For example, shampoos, lotions, sun screens, different fibers in clothing, sanitary pads, panty liners, etc.
INJECTED: Mostly when we get, insect bites and also plants scraping the skin.
WHAT IS AN ALLERGIC REACTION?
The body does not recognize the substance being put into it. This can occur by mouth, nose, ears, and skin or internally and mislabels one of the body’s hormones. The body reacts like the allergen is an infection and attacks it usually causing swelling and inflammation in different parts of the body.
Allergies are one of the main causes of chronic, long term swelling and inflammation which can lead into the destruction of tissue causing disease.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT ALLERGIES:
- Do I have any allergies?
- What kind are they?
- Can they be permanently eliminated?
- Have they caused any long term tissue damage?
***NOTE: The most common tissue affected by allergies is the Colon (Food allergies can lead into Irritable Bowel Syndrome, IBS). Other tissues affected by allergies are the Sinuses, Lungs (Can lead into infection causing pneumonia), and Heart (Can lead to Heart Arrhythmias). There are many, many more tissues in the body that can have adverse reactions to allergies as well.
MOST IMPORTANTLY ASK, “CAN MY ALLERGIES BE DESENSITIZED?”
0INDIGESTION: EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT INDIGESTION:
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT INDIGESTION:
The body expends over 50% of its total energy on digestion, including the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Other substances the body is forced to digest are additives, preservatives, dyes, flavorings (mostly different form of salts), spices, gluten, stabilizers and gums. The problem with indigestion is it can cause huge amounts of swelling and inflammation in the body which contributes to ½ of Americans being overweight with 1/3 of Americans being obese. A lot of this weight gain is from water weight that begins to accumulate because of the above.
Long term swelling and inflammation can lead into tissue damage and eventually disease. Combined allergies, infections and indigestion cause 90% of all chronic swelling and inflammation!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CAN’T DIGEST FAT CORRECTLY?
Hormonal and nerve problems are the most common! 70% of all hormonal problems are caused by indigestion of fat.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CAN’T DIGEST CARBOHYDRATES CORRECTLY?
Fatigue and the inability to concentrate are the two most common symptoms, followed by mood disorders, depressions and obesity!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CAN’T DIGEST PROTEINS CORRECTLY?
Anything and everything! The whole human body is composed of proteins so all of the body systems can be affected.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT INDIGESTION:
Do I have a digestion problem? If yes:
- What kind of digestion problem is it: Protein, carbohydrate, fats or a combination?
- IS IT CAUSING ME TO BE OVER WEIGHT OR OBESE?
- Is it causing long term swelling and inflammation in the body?
- Am I retaining water because of indigestion? If so how many pounds?
- Do I have any damaged tissue in the digestion tract? If yes where? Should I have that imaged to look for cancer?
- Is the digestion problem treatable with enzyme therapy?
- Do I have the signs and symptoms to have leaky Gut Syndrome?
OTHER DIGESTION RELATED QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR:
- Do I have a long term parasite infection?
- Do I have food allergies?
- Do I have a different infection or allergy that’s causing my indigestion?
- Am I eating too many refined carbohydrates?
- Am I eating too many hydrogenated fats?
- Am I eating too many refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated fats together?
- Am I eating too many processed foods?
- Is the tire I carry around my stomach water weight? (The stomach is the most common place to carry water weight)
OBESITY: EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT OBESITY:
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT OBESITY:
Is the number one health problem in America with half of all adults being overweight and 1/3 of the population being obese! The majority of people who are overweight are because of the American diet which is high in:
- Refined Carbohydrates
- Hydrogenated fat
- Salt or Sodium
All three of the above will make us gain weight through the following mechanisms:
- Gain water weight (all three above listed foods swell the body)
- Gain fat by eating too much of the above and not realizing how hard these foods are to digest
- Chronic constipation from eating foods hard to digest
- Disease (Cancer and Heart disease are common on this diet)
Other diseases that are common with this way of eating are: Diabetes, Pneumonias and lowered immunity. The healthiest thing to do is learn the following:
- What are refined carbohydrates (link here to the refined carbohydrates page)
- What is a Hydrogenated fat (link)
- What are all the names for sodium (link to web page for sodium)
ONCE YOU HAVE LEARNED WHAT THESE FOODS ARE, LIMIT THEM TO TWO BITES OUT OF TEN GOING IN YOUR MOUTH!
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR:
- Am I eating too many refined carbohydrates?
- Am I eating too many Hydrogenated fats?
- Am I getting to much Sodium (salt) in my diet?
- Do I have excess water weight? If yes how much?
- Is my Colon and the rest of my digestive tract functioning correctly? If not what’s wrong?
- Am I overeating?
- What is my healthy weight range?
- Should I go on a diet? If yes what kind of diet?
- Am I overweight due to another cause other than diet? If yes, what’s the problem? Can it be fixed?
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:
- Am I overeating?
- Do I know what a refined carbohydrate is?
- Do I know what a hydrogenated fat is?
- Do I know my healthy weight range?
- Do I have a health condition other then diet that’s making me heavy? If so what is it?
INFECTIONS: EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT INFECTIONS:
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT INFECTIONS:
There are 5 different types of infections, Viral, Bacterial, Parasitical, Fungal, and Yeast.
Although all of these infections have different characteristics under the microscope ALL OF THEM CAN PRODUCE THE EXACT SAME TYPES OF SYMPTOMS IN HUMANS. This makes diagnosis by symptoms almost impossible with the exception of yeast.
The symptoms of all 5 types of infections can be:
- Runny nose and sinus problems
- Gut pain and or diarrhea
- Higher temperature or lower temperature than normal
- Muscle and joint pain
- Fatigue
- Problems breathing
- Spitting up mucous or blowing vast amounts out of your nose
- And many, many other symptoms
*** NOTE: Yeast can also produce depression, rage at little things, cravings for sugar and abnormal and hyper behavior in children.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTORS ABOUT INFECTIONS:
- What type of infection is it?
- Is it “self limiting”? (I don’t need a Doctor, my body’s immune system will kill it)
- Do I need to take something?
- Will my body be able to get rid of it?
- If I take antibiotics will the infection get worse?
- Can I be treated so that my immune system will kill the infection?
THINGS EVERY PATIENT SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE ABOVE INFECTIONS:
VIRAL: Viruses are common among children, older adults, seniors, anybody with a depressed immune system, people that work in day care, nursing homes, hospitals and or Doctors offices.
BACTERIA: Bacteria infections are common among children, older adults, seniors, anybody with a depressed immune system, people that work in day care, nursing homes, hospitals and or Doctors offices.
PARASITES: By far the most common infection. See Viral and Bacterial.
MOST PARASITE INFECTIONS EXPLODE IN GROWTH IF THE PATIENT IS GIVEN ANTIBIOTICS (antibiotics will indiscriminately kill gut flora. Since the gut flora usually is in competition with the parasite for food, when the gut flora is reduced the parasite can flourish more readily.)
FUNGAL: See Viral and Bacterial. SEE PARASITES CONCERNING ANTIBIOTICS.
YEAST: Usually a secondary infection to one of the above or occurring after antibiotic therapy.
HOW TO KEEP INFECTIONS IN CHILDREN TO A MINIMUM:
HOW TO KEEP INFECTIONS IN CHILDREN TO A MINIMUM:
Children love to put their fingers in the following places:
- Their genitals
- Their mouth
- Their nose
- Other children’s orifices
- The ground or floor
- The dog or cat and household pets
- The greasy stuff behind the stove
They need dry soap in every bathroom (home, school etc.) Please teach them to use dry soap every time they go to the bathroom.
Teach parents to put dry soap next to front door and teach children to use every time they come in from the outside. Washing with soap and water does not work because children will only wash their hands for
no more than six seconds when an adult is not present!
Vitamin C (sweet tarts type) should be given out as candy to children at school and home.
EACH INDIVIDUAL VITAMIN C SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 100MG!
Individual dosages should be by weight:
- 1 lb-30lb no more than 500mg per day
- 31lb-62lb no more than 750mg per day
- 63lb-99lb no more than 1000 per day
- 100lb-148lb no more than 1250mg per day
- 149lb and up no more than 2000mg per day unless sick or approved by a doctor
Side effects of too much vitamin C include loose bowels and increased absorption of iron. This would be routinely checked on by scanning by Dr. Salas.
WARNING: Some humans are allergic to vitamin C. Please be scanned before starting the above, also all humans are not alike, you may need more or less depending on the situation and regardless of weight!
Vitamin C TURBO CHARGES the immune systems and makes us a hostile environment for infectious invaders!
WHEN CHILDREN ARE SICK:
Please find out the following:
- Is the child infected?
- Does the child need to be kept away from others?
- And is the child infectious?
IF THE CHILD IS INFECTED:
Please find out the following:
- How long will they be infectious?
- Do I need a mask of gloves when I’m around them?
If these simple rules are followed infections should be kept to a minimum.
HOW ARE YOU DOING EMOTIONALLY? (WHY THAT IS SO IMPORTANT)
HOW ARE YOU DOING EMOTIONALLY? (WHY THAT IS SO IMPORTANT)
The Chinese have known for five thousand years that long term negative emotions will lead to disease of the organ systems. A steady stream of negativity will also lead to:
- Depressed immune system
- Poor and or slow digestion
- Chronic swelling and inflammation of various organs
- Specific emotions will harm specific organs
- Arrhythmias
- Depression
- Poor quality of life
- DECREASED LIFESPAN
The negativity can lead into symptoms of every shape and description; however the most common are the following:
- Constant infections
- Susceptibility to pneumonia
- Obesity
- Feelings of insecurity
- Low self-esteem
All of these symptoms will lead to decreased immune function and chronic swelling and inflammation in the body.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR EMOTIONAL STATE:
- Do you see signs of negativity with me?
- What type of negativity?
- Do I have depression? If yes, is it mild, moderate, or severe?
- Can you help me with the negativity and or depression?
- Is the negativity affecting one of my organ systems? If yes, what organ or organs?
- Is the negativity affecting my immune system?
- How do I get rid of the negativity?
- Is the negativity coming from work or home or other?
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF ABOUT YOUR EMOTIONAL STATE:
- Am I happy?
- Am I sad?
- Is the sadness all the time or most of the time?
- Am I negative? If yes, is it all the time and has it been there for a long time?
- Do I like my work?
- Do I hate my work?
- Are my relationships with my loved ones negative or positive?
- Is my relationship with my spouse negative or positive?
WHAT TO DO IF YOU’RE OVERWEIGHT:
WHAT TO DO IF YOU’RE OVERWEIGHT:
First and foremost, find out what is the cause. Although the American diet of refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated fats are the main culprit, sometimes other causes are to blame including:
- Thyroid problems
- Pituitary problems (just as common as thyroid)
- Digestion problems
- Chronic constipation
- Liver problems
- Genetic (The inability to digest fats, carbohydrates or proteins)
Please find out the above first with a simple exam.
During the exam, here are some other things to ask and have your Doctor look for including:
- Water weight gain
- Inability to digest SPECIFIC proteins, carbohydrates or fats
- Food allergies
- Hidden infections in the Colon or other areas of the body
- Is my Heart able to support my extra weight?
- Are my Lungs able to provide enough oxygen to support my weight?
- Do I have a vitamin deficiency?
If your Doctor has determined that you need to get on a diet, please ask about the high protein diet that’s available at this clinic. The advantages to the high protein diet are the following:
- 3lbs a week weight loss is common
- No yo-yoing (Excellent stabilization phase)
- “Plateau Breakers” (you will stop losing weight at some point in your diet and “Plateau Breakers” will help you to continue to lose)
- This diet teaches you how to eat correctly (for a lifetime)
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR:
- What is the cause of my weight gain?
- If it’s dietary would I be able to go on the high protein diet?
- If no, is there another diet I should go on?
- Do I need enzymes to digest my food properly?
- What is a healthy weight range for me?
- Are there other causes of my weight gain? If yes, can they be fixed?
- Will I still need to go on a diet? If yes, can I do the high protein diet?
- Are there any reasons I shouldn’t diet?
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:
- Do I eat like “Porky Pig”? If yes, will I stop?
- Do I like protein?
- Will I actually LEARN what refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated fat are? (Link)
- Will I read about all the sources of sodium (salt) in my diet? (Link)
THE NO GLUTEN AND THE ANTI-CANDIDA DIETS (WHAT I HAVE LEARNED):
THE NO GLUTEN AND THE ANTI-CANDIDA DIETS (WHAT I HAVE LEARNED):
I have ranted and raved about the damage that gluten can do in the body and I still believe that however, as I have learned more and more about diagnosis there’s one thing that I now know is true; MOST HUMANS CAN DIGEST SMALL AMOUNTS OF GLUTEN IN THEIR DIETS !
Although the digestion of gluten can cause swelling, inflammation and indigestion, most of the time it does not. I have also learned that with the help of common digestive enzymes the majority of people can digest moderate to heavy amounts of gluten. (I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!)
The ANTI-CANDIDA diet has consistently tested high in ridding people of a gut environment that leads people to have overgrowths of Yeast. I also use this diet for the following:
- To clean people out of all the gunk like: additives, preservatives, gluten, gums, colorings, dyes and undigested foods
- To correct Peristalsis (the movement of food through the gut)
- To help constipation
- To get rid of toxicities
- To lose water weight
- When needed to drastically correct someone’s poor diet in the shortest amount of time
- To help the body get rid of infections
- To help heal the gut lining (leaky gut Syndrome)
- TO HELP RELIEVE SWELLING AND INFLAMMATION (especially the chronic kind)
GOD’S PHARMACY:
GOD’S PHARMACY:
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SHOULD BE THE MOST BASIC ONES IN YOUR PHARMACY:
- Liquid Multi-Vitamin
- Liquid chlorophyll (chlorella powder works well, one ounce of liquid chlorophyll = one ounce of chlorella powder)
- Boswellia capsules – a potent herbal anti-inflammatory
- Liquid Aloe – a cheap anti-inflammatory that can be mega-dosed
- Fish Oil
- Tuna Oil – this balances fish oil
- Pan (general purpose enzyme for digesting protein, fats, and carbs)
- Chewable Vitamin C for children (the ones that taste like sweet tarts)
- A good quality Vitamin C for adults
- Liquid wormwood MEDI-HERB from Standard Process (kills parasites, some fungal, some viral infections)
- Pau D Arco pills – kills 80- 85% of all parasites
THE FOLLOWING ARE MEDICATIONS THAT PATIENTS WILL OCCASIONALLY NEED:
- The occasional anti-biotic
- Pain killers (nothing on natural side equals prescription strength)
- Blood thinners (see above)
- Insulin (Metformin etc.)
- Aspirin (over the counter)
- Blood pressure medication
The above medications, except aspirin, would need to be prescribed by a medical doctor and please consult with a medical doctor before taking any of the above.
Dr. Salas does not prescribe medication in the practice.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:
If you have been reading through the pages of this website I hope that you are starting to get a VERY GOOD IDEA HOW TO GET AND STAY HEALTHY!
First and foremost is an exam.
After your exam I will be able to discuss the following with you:
- Your overall health
- What’s wrong
- What else is wrong
- What’s dysfunctional
- All systems of the body that are dysfunctional
- Genetically, are there any weak systems in my body? (Heart, lungs etc.)
- Do I have any chronic areas of swelling and inflammation?
- Can the underlying cause or cause be fixed?
- Can you give me a “top ten” list of things that need to be corrected in my body or overall health?
- Based off my exam what do you think I will die of?
- Based off my exam what condition do you think I will be in the last twenty years of my life?
- Are there any signs of a disease process in my body?
- Based off my exam, can you give me the cause to every one of my symptoms?
- Do I need to diet?
- What is my healthy weight range?
- Am I negative? If yes, is it affecting my health? How?
- Am I depressed? If yes, is it affecting my health? How?
- Do you have a health plan for me?
- Do I need to exercise? If so, what type and for what parts of my body?
- Do I need a specific exercise program?
- Do I have scar tissue? If yes, where?

AND PLEASE, PLEASE ASK ANY OTHER QUESTIONS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE!
~DR. ALAIN SALAS
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:
- Do I usually just wait until my body breaks down before fixing it?
- Is my health in the “top ten” list of my concerns?
- Do I have a SPARE BODY in case mine wears out?
- Do I eat like “Porky Pig” and will it take a heart attack or stroke to make me change?
- Am I the type of person that only pays attention to my health when something is wrong?
- Do I put the FEMALE of the house in charge of my health? If yes, why?
- Do I hold my Doctor responsible for me health even if I haven’t seen them in three years?
- Do I hold my insurance company responsible for my health?
- Do I let my insurance company dictate what type of care I receive, who I go to see and even IF I get to see a Doctor?
- Do I never go to the Doctor simply because they may want my “first born” as payment?
THE ARTERIAL SYSTEM:
THE ARTERIAL SYSTEM:
The body’s arterial system are like the pipes in a house (on a smaller scale of course) all interconnected and eventually hooked into bigger pipes. However, like pipes they can become corroded (hardened) and blocked by build ups (plaque). Our vascular surgeons are the best in the world simply because they have so much practice.
MOST HEART PROBLEMS ARE FROM BLOCKED AND PARTIALLY BLOCKED ARTERIES.
In turn, this reduces the amount of blood going into the heart and makes the heart beat harder and faster (High Blood Pressure). If this continues over a period of time it leads to heart attacks.
The most common causes of blocked arteries in no particular order are:
- Chronic constipation
- Diet high in hydrogenated fats
- No, or not enough exercise
- Poor digestion of fats
- Smoking
***NOTE: BLOCKED ARTERIES ARE A TIME BOMB WAITING TO HAPPEN.
If plaque builds up and breaks free it can:
- Go to the Brain = STROKE
- Go to the Heart = HEART ATTACK
- Go to the Lungs = EMBOLISM
ANY ONE OF THE THREE ABOVE WILL KILL YOU!
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE ARTERIAL SYSTEM:
- Do I have any signs of a blocked artery? If yes what can I do about it?
- Is my high blood pressure being caused by a blocked artery? If yes what can I do about it?
- Is my diet clogging my arteries?
- Is my constipation clogging my arteries?
- Am I having any problems digesting fats?
- Is my indigestion of fats clogging my arteries? If yes what can I do about it?
For more questions to ask your Doctor and yourself please see the “Heart” page.

THE COLON (LOWER HALF OF THE DIGESTIVE TRACT):
THE COLON (LOWER HALF OF THE DIGESTIVE TRACT):
The Colon is where waste removal takes place; this is a very important process. If waste doesn’t come out of the body, it stays in the body and can lead to a state of toxicity which over the long term can lead to Colon Cancer.
Other common diseases of the bowel usually involve long term inflammation of the inside of the colon. They include:
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Crohn’s Disease
- Leaky Gut Syndrome
- Colon Cancer
Most of these cases start out as indigestion of one, or a combination of, PROTEINS, CARBOHYDRATES, or FATS. Other causes of the above listed diseases are food allergies and long term infections (due mostly to parasites). All of these over the long term cause swelling and inflammation in the Colon that eventually tear the inner “gut” lining causing:
- Toxins (excrement) to leak out into the blood stream (Leaky Gut Syndrome)
- Severe inflammation that eventually leads into colon cancer. (This is the reason that colon cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the United States.)
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE COLON:
- Is there any long term swelling or inflammation in my colon? If yes, for how long?
- What is the cause of the inflammation?
- Has there been any tearing of the lining of the colon (“Leaky Gut” syndrome)
- Am I toxic?
- Has my “Peristalsis” (the movement of food through the “gut”) slowed down? (usually the patient will have had occasional constipation or chronic constipation)
- How is the health of my “gut” flora (Probiotics are recommended for improved “gut” flora)
- Are colon problems making me be overweight?

THE HEART:
THE HEART:
Simply stated, the heart is a big muscle that contracts and forces blood through the arteries. It has four different chambers that are intertwined with the lungs so that red blood cells come into the heart without oxygen and leave with oxygen that they get from the lungs. There’s an electrical system that opens and closes the valves that separate the chambers with machine-like precision. This is our heartbeat, the opening and closing of those valves.
When problems happen in the heart it’s usually one of the above structures that have a problem including:
- Problems with the chambers (called ventricles and atria)
- Problems with the electrical system
- Problems with the muscle system
The above problems can be caused by:
- Allergies
- Being obese or overweight
- Chronic stress
- Genetics
- Indigestion
- Infections
- Poor diet high in hydrogenated fats
THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM IS POOR BLOOD FLOW INTO THE HEART FROM BLOCKED ARTERIES!
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE HEART:
- Is there an electrical problem with my heart? (Doctors call this arrhythmia)
- Is there a muscle problem with my heart?
- Is my heart genetically strong?
- Is there a problem with the chambers of the heart?
- Am I carrying too much weight? If yes, how many pounds do I need to lose?
- Is my diet affecting my heart? If yes how? What do I need to change?
- Am I getting enough exercise?
- Do I have an infection?
- Do I have any allergies?
- Do I have any indigestion?
- Are there any other causes of swelling and inflammation that are affecting my heart?
- Is stress affecting my heart?
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:
- Am I eating like “Porky Pig”?
- Am I not getting enough exercise to keep my heart and body healthy?
- Do I have way too much stress in my life?
- Do I value my heart as much as ice cream and potato chips?
- Have I put off losing weight way too long?
- Am I constantly out or short of breath?
THE IMMUNE SYSTEM:
THE IMMUNE SYSTEM:
The Immune System is a complex system with many types of cells whose main jobs are:
- Defend our bodies against infections
- Clear toxins and toxic substances out of the body
- Destroy Cancer cells (abnormal cells) or cells that have a chance of turning into cancer cells
- Help in digesting hard to digest foods like:
* Refined carbohydrates
* Hydrogenated fats
In doing its job sometimes the Immune System gets carried away and:
- Attacks the wrong thing coming into the body (food can be “mis-identified” by the body which causes “food allergies”). Once the body misidentifies a food and categorizes it as an “allergen”, the body will continue to misidentify this same food and attack it every time a person eats it!
- Misidentifies something you breathe in (same as above) causing Inhaled Allergy
- Misidentifies one of the body’s own hormones causing Hormonal Allergy
- Misidentifies abnormal cells and or tissue causing Auto-immune Disease
- Misses an infectious agent either virus, bacteria, parasite, or fungus causing long term infection
- Is overwhelmed by an infection
The Immune system is made up of various types of white blood cells made in the spleen and bones of the human body, these different cells vary in size, shape and function; however their main job is to protect and clean up the body.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE IMMUNE SYSTEM:
- Is my immune system working at full function?
- If no to the above, am I at risk for disease?
- Do I have a long term infection? If yes what kind on infection?
- Can I make my Immune System stronger? If yes how?
- Is my body’s digestion of food requiring help from the immune system?
- If yes to the above is it because of my diet?
- Am I eating too many refined carbohydrates?
- Am I eating too many hydrogenated fats?
***NOTE: ONE OF THE BIGGEST REASONS FOR LOWER IMMUNITY IS CHRONIC INDIGESTION – mainly of refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated fats.
- Is there any type of dysfunction in my body that’s lowering my Immune system?
- Am I able to take Vitamin C?
- Will taking Vitamin C help my Immune system?

THE LIVER:
THE LIVER:
Is an organ six times the size that it needs to be? Of course not, an organ is the size that is required.
The liver’s size helps it perform over 500 different duties in your body including:
- Detoxifying
- Helps in making red blood cells
- Makes bile to digest fat
- Regulates maintains and controls cholesterol
- Major organ in the hormonal system as it makes hormones with cholesterol
- Makes glucose (the bodies fuel)
In addition the liver with the kidneys keeps toxins down by detoxifying the blood. If the liver is clogged with toxins, fat (fatty liver), or cirrhoses (scar tissue), or if it is chronically inflamed, it can still function and do most of its jobs.
HOWEVER THERE’S NO WAY TO BE HEALTHY WITH ANY OF THESE PROCESSES TAKING PLACE IN YOUR LIVER!
Liver health is usually determined by a good diet and low amounts of toxins going in the body including:
- Alcohol (especially hard liquor, 80 proof and up)
- Cigarettes
- All medications and illegal drugs
- Food additives, preservatives, colorings, dyes, gums, gluten etc…
- A diet high in HYDROGENATED FATS (HYDROGENATED FATS TAKE ALMOST 5 TIMES THE ENERGY TO DIGEST VERSUS A GOOD FAT)
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE LIVER:
- Do I have too many toxins in my body?
- Am I eating a diet too high in hydrogenated fats?
- Is my liver healthy?
- Is my liver detoxifying well?
- Is there any swelling and inflammation?
***NOTE: PLEASE DON’T TAKE A LIVER FLUSH OR GALL BLADDER FLUSH WITHOUT CONSULTING YOUR DOCTOR FIRST.
0THE MASTER ORGANS OF THE BODY:
THE MASTER ORGANS OF THE BODY:
The Hypothalamus and the Pituitary are the Master Organs of the body. All the information that comes into the body via sight, touch, smell, hearing, taste, and most of the internal information from the million plus nerve sensors throughout our bodies is compiled, tabulated and evaluated in the Hypothalamus.
The Pituitary is the Master Organ that controls the Hormonal system including the Thyroid, Adrenals, Liver, Pancreas, the Ovaries and Testicles.
The Hypothalamus controls Homeostasis which is the delicate balances of our organ systems in our body including:
- Regulating the Hormonal system through messages to the Pituitary
- PH levels in the body (acid versus alkaline)
- Body temperatures
- Rate of healing
- Digestion
And thousands of other functions!
The main reasons why they are important is if they are affected by infection or allergy THEY WILL CAUSE DYSFUNCTION THROUGH OUT THE BODY AND EVENTUALLY DISEASE!
I have found infection and allergies to be the main cause of dysfunction in these two organs; however other causes include Genetics and tumors.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF DYSFUNCTION?
- Hormonal symptoms of any kind
- A Thyroid that will not regulate correctly
- The body’s internal thermostat (too hot too cold)
- The rate of calorie burned (it’s almost impossible for this person to lose weight)
- The rate of healing (these people heal very slowly)
- Multiple organ systems that are dysfunctional or diseased with no reason why
- A feeling of disorientation
- Mental illness including (Depression, Paranoia, Schizophrenia, altered reality)
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE HYPOTHALAMUS AND PITUITARY:
- Do I have any signs of Pituitary dysfunction?
- Do I have any signs of Hypothalamus dysfunction?
- If yes to the above, what is causing it? Can it be fixed?
- Are my hormonal symptoms being caused by these two organs?
- Is the Pituitary keeping me from getting pregnant?
